Judgement Day: Boston Dynamics reveals its ‘Handle’ robot

OK granted that title may be a bit dramatic but I am a big terminator fan. Google owned Boston Dynamics finally introduced us to its rolling robot “Handle.” Unlike its predecessors this robot moves around on wheels. Whats more amazing is what it can do on wheels. Stairs and other obstacles prove little trouble for the robot that can be seen in the released video leaping through the air and jumping onto tables. That terminator reference wasn’t so far off was it? All jokes aside once they get past safety issues (it has been described as a nightmare robot) there are dozens of practical applications for a robot like this. It was designed to pick things up and move them around, hence the name. Handle combines hydraulic and electric actuators, is 6.5 feet tall, can jump 4 feet and travels at speeds of up to 9 mph and can lift up to 100 lbs.
